The small village of Pozzecco di Bertiolo (Friuli Venezia Giulia region, in the north-east of Italy) preserves a long tradition of mosaics and terrazzos, which can be dated back to the XVIII. century, according to the mosaic tombstones and to the old floors descovered in many villas and houses.

This was the homwtown of many craftsmen, the "Terrazzo Masters of Pozzecco", who decided to emigrate in many foreign countries (Russland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and America) at the beginning of the XX. century and managed to spread this italian art all over the word.

Dell’Angela, Iacuzzi, Bertolini and Savoia: these are the surnames which have proudly carried and kept high the name of "Pozzecco" abroad.

The Savoia's are one of the craftsmen's family that emigrated in the USA and became soon master in terrazzo and marble floors.

For many years, Alverio Savoia had taken alive this tradition in the small village of Pozzecco and nowadays, the family-run business is still working thanks to his son Denis, who cooperates with another local craftsman, Roberto Bertolini. Every day, they design and realize projects which are created according to the requests and the needs of the situation.

Today, Alverio Savoia (also called Aldino by friends) grows his passion for art and expresses his feelings and emotions through mosaics and paintings. He is a well known artist of the region and has won many international prizes.
